Shipyard highlights:
BIW’s 21st century modernization initiatives include the expansion of shipyard capabilities with the construction of a $250 million state-of-the-art land level transfer facility (LLTF) that is dedicated to the design, construction and modernization of ships. Its 15-acre level platform streamlines the assembly and erection of ships up to 800-feet long. The lltf’s ship launch and retrieval capability is provided by a new 750-foot floating dry dock with a 140-foot clear width and 28,000 long ton lift capability.
