Aqua-Chem, formerly Water Technology Division, has been a stand-alone company since February, 2006. The company provides water purification equipment to the U.S. Navy and the commercial marine industry. Purification technologies include reverse osmosis (RO), flash evaporation, waste heat and vapor compression and are integrated into "system solutions ". Aqua-Chem recently received a major five year contract for hi-spec RO's, which will be used to retrofit existing Navy ships such as the FFG class.

Aqua-Chem is an ISO-9001-2000 certified company that has supported the Navy since World War II. Headquartered in Knoxville, TN, the 175,000 square foot manufacturing facility conducts factory acceptance and operational testing on-site. Water purification systems are qualified to state-of-the art inspection requirements (including MIL-SPEC) during First Article Testing. Aqua-Chem equipment is manufactured to Navy Nuclear, Level I and sub-safe requirements and can be found on many combatant ships including CVN carriers and submarines. |
