Shipyard highlights:
Electric Boat’s Groton, Connecticut shipyard can produce up to three submarines per year. This facility includes heavy-lift cranes capable of combined lifts of up to 680 tons, as well as three graving docks, one of which can accommodate ships up to 560 feet in length and more than 18,000 tons in displacement.at its automated frame and cylinder. Facility in Quonset Point, Rhode Island, modular submarine sections are manufactured and outfitted. Additionally, Quonset Point operates an automated steel-processing center with state-of-the-art laser, plasma and water jet cutters.
