EMS Development Corporation was formed in 1972 to provide equipment and services in the field of magnetic countermeasures for mine warfare, and is the world’s largest designer and manufacturer of devices for magnetic silencing and treatment of naval ships. EMS provides a complete line of shipboard degaussing systems, other Undwerater Electromagnetic (UWEM) Silencing Systems, UWEM silencing systems modeling, design, prediction and support services, and underwater harbor-based magnetic silencing facilities required by navies for magnetic mine defense.

Overview:
Over the last 30 years EMS has successfully delivered numerous magnetic silencing systems for the U.S. Government, of all levels of sophistication, and for several overseas governments. In addition, EMS manufactures and delivers Ruggedized and/or Military Specification Qualified power supplies, power control systems, and power conversion equipment not associated with Magnetic Silencing or Degaussing, including: ICCP Power and Control Systems, Gas Turbine Electric Start Systems, various sizes of Static Frequency Converters. EMS offers total life-cycle support of UWEM silencing system designs and products, from optimization of designs at feasibility and design phases, through construction, light-off and calibration, and through maintenance, adjustment and upgrading when in service. Approximately one-half of the modern U.S. Navy combat vessels utilize equipment manufactured by EMS.
