Overview:
PTI is a key propulsion contributor on various Navy ship programs. For example, on the CVN (X) aircraft carrier program,
PTI is responsible for the design of the main propulsion turbines and systems integration of the main propulsion unit. On the DD (X)
destroyer program, PTI was responsible for the mechanical design and manufacture of the permanent magnet propulsion motor. On yet
another developmental ship program, PTI is responsible for system design and assembly of a complete gas turbine generator set and
assembly of the propulsion module. In the commercial area, PTI has completed steam and gas turbine design work for major turbine
programs, and has technical responsibility for 2,000 turbines for the power industry. |
